Weather forecasts for this coming weekend include heavy snow and ice.
Those are just the ingredients needed to shut down the campus — if things get bad enough.
Dr. Carter File, president of Hutchinson Community College, was cautious on Feb. 26, when asked about the possibility of calling off school for Monday, March 1.
“If it’s icy on the roads with snow on top, and we are unable to have people clear the roads and sidewalks, a snow day may occur,” File said.
Students would be notified via emergency text system.
