The phrase “early bird gets the worm” applies to some people.

There are people who wake up before sunrise and have enough energy to get them through their day. On the other side of the spectrum, there are people who stay up late and sleep til noon, having energy throughout the night.

Hutchinson Community College students shared their perspectives on what type of person they are.

“I’m definitely a night person,” said Inman freshman Kassie Regehr. “I would much rather stay up late to work on assignments or other things than wake up early. I also feel like I often get an extra surge of energy, especially when I am around other people and just want to stay up and talk.”

Arlington sophomore Ethan Beck is, likewise, a night owl.

“Late night person for sure. Normally up until midnight or just past then,” Beck said.

So if you’re a morning person or a night person, it doesn’t really matter when you wake up. All that matters is that you sleep and have some energy to conquer your day, whether that is getting up with the sun or sleeping til noon.
