Artificial Intelligence fiend and futurist, Taryn Southern, is making an appearance at the Dillon Lecture Series at 10:30 a.m. April 21 in the Hutchinson Sports Arena.
Southern is known for creating the world’s first ever AI Pop Album back in 2018 as well as co-directing an award-winning documentary titled “I Am Human”. Southern has also been a YouTube personality since 2007, earning more than 400,000 subscribers in that time. As a teenager, Southern made it to the semifinals of the 2007 season of “American Idol”.
The Wichita native earned a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Miami, before starting her digital content career.
Throughout her career, she has spanned over several types of media. From interviewing guests on the red carpet, such as boy band sensation One Direction and the cast of the “Hunger Games”, to guest starring in television shows, to hosting her own miniseries, “Project MyWorld”.
Southern will discuss topics in creativity, collaboration and technology.
