Enrollment numbers have increased for the fall semester at Hutchinson Community College.
As of Oct. 20, there are 5,277 students enrolled for the fall semester. The enrollment has gone up 0.6% compared to the same day two years ago.
There are 5,277 students enrolled with 47,458.5 credit hours. On Oct. 20, 2024 there were 5,274 students enrolled with 45,925 credit hours.
“What this tells us is that we have pretty much the same number of students (in a day-to-day comparison), and those students are taking more credit hours,” said Hutchinson Community College President Tricia Paramore.
Year after year, the head count and credit hours for spring rise.
The Fall 2024 semester credit hour numbers differ 1,533.5 to the current enrolled credit hours. Think of the difference as 1,533.5 credit hours, or 511 3-hour credit classes.
“We have been able to break down key initiatives into focused groups, allowing us to effectively tackle important goals,” said Brea Turner, HutchCC’s Executive Director of Enrollment Management.
The marketing and admissions department have helped to grow a base for HutchCC, and bring in more students. The admissions department is always working to have specific programs and providing around-the-clock service.
All of the rising enrollment numbers couldn’t be possible without the admissions office, athletic recruiters and student activities, academic advisors, and many support services that help the students reach their career goals.
“It’s always good to see enrollment numbers up, instead of down,” Paramore said.
More information about HutchCC is spread through word of mouth than any other source.
The ultimate goal is for HutchCC students to reach their goals. They want students to start their higher education and finish it. The end goal for the students at HutchCC is to be ready to enter the workforce or to transfer to a four-year university.
