The Blue Dragon softball team played a double header in Concordia against Cloud County on March 8.

Hutch was scoreless for the first inning of the first game.

During the second inning, the bases were loaded for the Dragons and Ally Raines, Round Rock, Texas, hit a home run.

The score was 4-0 with the Dragons ahead.

After a scoreless third inning, Kendall Blanco, Ottawa, bunted for Blue Dragon single.

She stole 2nd and 3rd and then was able to score after a hit from Holly Kelley, Cypress, Texas in the fourth inning.

The score was 5-0.

During the fourth, Cloudy County was able to score making it 5-1.

After a four-run seventh inning, the Dragons won the first game 9-1.

In the second game the Dragons trailed 3-2, but they were able to tie the game in the second inning.

As the game drew on, the Dragons were down 7-6 at the top of the fifth.

Hutch took the lead back in the sixth inning and continued to push their lead until the end of the game.

The Dragons accomplished the sweep of Cloud County, 11-7.

Hutch faced Murray State in a series of two games on March 4 and 5 and achieved a sweep.

The scores were 5-3 and 14-8.

In both games, the Dragons had 19 runs and 27 hits.

In the first game, Kelley shutout Murray State for the first five innings, which helped the Dragons build a 5-0 lead.

Kelcee Thompson, Springdale, Arkansas, had a two-out RBI single in the first inning.

Then Nicole Pendelton, Edmond, Oklahoma, had a two-out RBI single in the fourth inning.

Kelley scored the fifth run for the Dragons with her first homerun of the season.

Dragon pitcher, Kelley, struck out seven, but walked a season-high of five. She only allowed seven hits and three runs; just one run earned.

The Dragons won the game 5-3.

In the second game, Hutch scored 11 runs during the first three innings.

The Dragons scored two in the first inning and six in the second. Hutch won the game 14-8.

The Dragons are scheduled to face the Bethany JV in Lindsborg for a double header on Thursday, March 10.
