The Blue Dragon volleyball team, who are the four-time defending Jayhawk conference, and Region VI Champions, will take on Iowa Western in the first round of the NJCAA Division I National Volleyball Tournament on Nov. 19, in Casper, Wyoming.

The Dragons are the 13th seed in the tournament with their 31-8 record, even though they posted more wins than several other teams.

The Iowa Western Reivers, as the fourth seed, go into the tournament with a 39-7 record.

The Dragons were scheduled to play Iowa Western earlier in the season at the Blue Dragon Volleyball Classic in Sept., but after another team dropped out of the tournament, so the Dragons were forced to cancel their match up with the Reivers .

The Dragons are only 1-4 in opening round matches while having a high seed.

The winner between the Dragons and the Reivers will move on to quarterfinals later that day against the winner of the Hillsborough-Wallace State game at 7:30p.m on Nov. 19.

The Dragons are making their ninth appearance at the national tournament.
