The Lady Dragons soccer team took on the Tonkowa Mavericks in Tonkowa, Oklahoma, on Sept 15.

After the long road trip, the Dragons struggled to get their offense fired up, managing only eight shots on goal.

Starting for the first time for the Dragons was goalie Andrea Coral, who put up a hard fight. She had seven saves on the day.

The ending score was 4-0 with the Mavericks winning the game.

Previously on Sept. 11, the Dragons crushed Garden City 8-1.

This left the Dragons 17-0 in the Jayhawk West Conference since 2013.

Renee Gillespie, Wichita, made her first career hat trick, scoring two goals in the first half.

Gillespie also had one late in the second half.

Courtney Boswell, Wichita, scored off a corner kick delivered straight to her feet from Jordan Downing, Hutchinson.

Molly Fiser, Manhattan, also scored off a corner kick from Georgia Warren, Lancaster, England.

Georgia Lupton, Lancaster, England, scored a goal.

Another Dragon who scored was Karrie McNutt, Winfield, also scored goals.

The Dragons have never been defeated by Garden City in team history.

The team is scheduled to travel to Overland Park, on Sept. 19 to take on their rivals Johnson County.
