Although the season is just beginning, the Lady Dragons’ volleyball team is 6-0.

The Lady Dragons played at home against the Garden City Broncbusters on Sept. 5.

Hutch beat Garden City in three games.

The scores were 25-20, 25-8, and 25-19.

Jai Chapman, Liberal, was the leading hitter for the Dragons with nine kills and two aces.

Chapman also had 11 digs.

Just behind Chapman in hits was Marija Martinovic, Belgrade, Serbia, with eight kills and two aces.

Petra Silic, Zagreb, Croatia, had six kills.

Johanna Voss, Sundern, Germany, led the Dragons with two solo blocks and three block assists.

Tarynn Stueder, Great Bend, added 14 set assists and six digs into the mix.

Aubrey Wilson, Bennington, ended the game with 14 assists and eight kills.

Overall, the Dragons had six blocks.

During the first game of the set, the Dragons started off slow, but gained momentum and they won the game 25-20.

The second game started off at a different pace for the Dragons.

They went on a 19-3 run and finished by only letting their opponents score eight points.

Hutch won the game 25-8.

The Dragons barely beat their opponents in the third game, 25-19.

The Dragons started off their season in a tournament in Roswell, New Mexico.

Hutch took first in the tournament after they beat each opponent in three games.

The Lady Dragons are scheduled to play in the Twin Falls, Idaho, tournament.

They are sceduled to play against the College of Southern Idaho on Sept. 11.
