The Blue Dragons football team traveled to play Fort Scott and they won 37-6 on Sept. 5.

After a scoreless first quarter, Kylen Binn, Columbia, South Carolina, connected a 35-yard pass to Gary Cross, Fordyce, Arkansas, who was standing in the end zone and scored the first points of the game and for the Dragons.

Kassidy Lemons, Hutchinson, kicked a field goal and scored the extra point.

The score was 7-0 with just under 10 minutes remaining in the half.

With three minutes remaining in the half, Hutch scored another touchdown as Treyvon Paulk, Cumming, Georgia, ran through the end zone.

Lemons scored another field goal making the score 14-0.

As the final minutes of the half ticked down, the score remained 14-0.

Halfway through the third quarter, Fort Scott was able to score a touchdown and cut the Dragons’ lead down to just eight.

The score was 14-6.

Just a minute later, Binn was able to throw a pass to DeQuan Bowman, Millville, New Jersey.

The score now was 21-6, after another field goal by Lemons.

Cross and Binn were able to connect again to score another touchdown after a 30- yard pass.

At the end of the third quarter, the score was 28-6.

As the final quarter went on, Lemons kicked a field goal for an extra three points for Hutch.

The score now 31-6.

With just two minutes remaining in the game, the Dragons score yet another touchdown after an 11-yard run from Tre Griffin, Wichita.

The ending score was 37-6.

The Dragons finished the game with 20 first downs, where their opponents had just five.

The Dragons had 209 rushing yards and 181 passing yards.

Hutch’s total offensive yards were 390 over 75 plays with an average of 5.2 yards per carry.

The Blue Dragons are scheduled to play their rivals the Butler Grizzlies in the Sports Arena at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12.
