Hutchinson Community College volleyball coach Patrick Hall announced earlier this month that he will be retiring, effective June 30.

Hall has spent the last eight seasons with the Blue Dragons, finishing with a record of 201-106, including a 103-21 record in the Jayhawk Conference Western Division. His 201 coaching wins at Hutchinson rank No.3 on the Blue Dragon coaching wins list. His total matches (307) and his win percentage (.654) also rank third in Blue Dragon history.

Hall had a career junior college coaching record of 326-232, which included stops at Pratt from 2005 to 2010 and Barton in 2011 before becoming HutchCC’s 12th head coach before the 2012 season.

Hall’s HutchCC teams posted six 20-win seasons and one 30-win season (34 in 2015). His teams have also won five Region 6 Tournament championships, including four in a row from 2012-2015. Hall’s Blue Dragon teams recorded five Jayhawk West titles, including an undefeated 16-0 run in 2014. He was named the Jayhawk West Coach of the Year five times with the Blue Dragons, and coached five NJCAA All-Americans.

“Blue Dragons Athletics thanks Coach Hall for his huge contributions to Hutch Volleyball,” Blue Dragon Athletic Director Josh Gooch said. “The 2017 Region 6 championship match at Seward County was one of the most exciting single events I’ve been a part of. We wish Coach Hall all the best.”
