If you have ever been in the elevator at a home Hutchinson Community College football game this season you might have an idea of who Logan Snyder is.
Or, maybe you just think of him as “Elevator guy.”

Snyder, a Buhler freshman who also pitches for the Blue Dragon baseball team, only works the Gowans Stadium elevator for the home football games and no other events. He first started working the elevator at the first home football game. Snyder has to report to his station an hour and 15 minutes before game time.
Working the elevator, Snyder gets to meet lots of new people. He helps disabled people enter and exit the elevator.
But overall, it’s not difficult work.
“I ask people where they want to go and I push the button,” Snyder said.
Snyder has realized that many people have started to recognize him from working the elevator, since he has worked four home football games this season.
During the games, there aren’t a whole lot of people needing to use the elevator. To pass the time, Snyder plays on his phone while waiting on someone to use the elevator.
“The busiest times of the game are before the game starts, during half time, and after the game is over,” Snyder said.
When there are 2 minutes left in the second quarter and fourth quarter, Snyder has to make a stop at the pressbox. He picks up the assistant coaches for both teams and takes them to the ground level.
Coaches and disabled people aren’t the only ones who can ride the Gowans Stadium elevator. Anyone can hitch a ride and hang out with Snyder for a few seconds.
