The week: Mitchell had two tremendous games against two difficult opponents last week in leading the Blue Dragons to a pair of wins. Mitchell scored 16 points, and added three rebounds and two assists as Hutch edged Independence 85-83. The day before Thanksgiving, he was even better, pouring in 27 points and had no turnovers in a 92-71 thrashing of Coffeyville.
The season: Mitchell is averaging 13.6 points a game so far this season for the second-ranked Blue Dragons. The sophomore from Washington also 4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. He had a season-best 28 points against Monroe.
