The Blue Dragon football team played Independence CC to close out the season on Nov. 7.
The Dragons won 47-0.
Their record as they end the season is 5-6 overall and 3-4 in the Jayhawk West Conference.
To open the game, Hutch scored within the first 17 seconds after a 63-yard pass from Dimonic McKinzy, Kansas City, to Gary Cross, Fordyce, Arkansas.
The score was 7-0 after a successful kick from Tymony Bonilla, Salina.
The Dragons had a 21-point first quarter after two touchdowns by Blaik Middleton, Hutchinson, plus two more field goals from Bonilla.
The score was 21-0.
The only touchdown in the second quarter was a 1-yard run by Middleton, his third touchdown of the game.
The score at halftime was 27-0 after a failed kick by Bonilla.
Towards the middle of the third quarter, the Dragons scored again after McKinzy’s 14-yard pass connected to Cross.
The score was 34-0.
Seven seconds into the fourth quarter, Middleton scored his fourth and final touchdown of the season.
Middleton had an 11-yard run into the end zone.
The score was 41-0 with a kick from Bonilla.
The final touchdown of the game was a 44-yard run by McKinzy.
Hutch attempted a two-point conversion, but the pass from Nathan Burditt, Lenexa, failed.
The score to end the game was 47-0.
The Dragons tallied 377 rushing yards, 222 of them coming from Middleton.
Middleton holds the season-high of rushing yards.
Hutch had 119 passing yards.
For the defensive side, the Dragons who had the most tackles were Leslie Maruo, Wichita, and Terrance Summers, Springfield, Tennessee.
Both Maruo and Summers had 10 tackles apiece.
Colby Turner, Hutchinson, and Ronheem Bingham, Bennettesville, South Carolina, each tallied seven tackles each.
