Circle K, one of the Hutchinson Community College clubs, went to a district convention and came back with several awards.
It was an achievement for the group. Club sponsor, Darrell Adams, was asked about what Circle K is and what the awards mean towards the club and towards the community.
“Circle K is the world’s largest student-led collegiate service organization. It is a branch of the Kiwanis International family.” Adams said. “These awards show that Circle K promotes a strong culture of service and fellowship on our campus. By organizing volunteer projects, fundraising efforts, and community outreach activities, our members are making an impact on our campus as well as our community.
“Through these initiatives, and members actively contribute their time and talents to meet community needs while developing a lifelong commitment to civic responsibility and helping others. Circle K encourages collaboration by bringing students together to work as teams while partnering with our local Kiwanis club and local community agencies. These cooperative efforts strengthen relationships, share resources, and create a greater collective impact through service on our community and our campus.”
Along with serving the community, the club has won several awards. Outstanding Advisor, Outstanding Sponsoring Kiwanis Club, Outstanding Kiwanis Family Involvement, 1st Place in Service Hours, Outstanding Club Fellowship. This is something to be proud of from the student body, as they have chosen to take time out their busy schedules to help the community.
