Its History Repeating? Israel is Trying

The year is 1944. The world is amid the bloodiest conflict in world history. Nazi Germany is conducting what is argued to be the greatest human right violations in what is known as the Holocaust. Jews are systematically murdered as part of Hitler’s genocidal master plan.

The year is 2026. The world is amid some of the highest global tensions in our lives. Israel is conducting one of the biggest modern human rights violations. Palestinians are systematically murdered as part of Netanyahu’s “Greater Israel” plan. It is reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health that out of the estimated 72,000 Palestinian casualties, 80% are civilians, and 30% are children. This doesn’t include the recent attacks and blatant war crimes Israel has and are actively committing in Iran and Lebanon.

Despite all of this, ask the major media outlets and supporters of President Trump what is happening in Israel, and they’ll tell you Israel is defending themselves. Defending themselves from what? The civilians and children of its surrounding countries?

Every day, I see disgusting, gut wrenching videos of the atrocities committed by Israel. I’ve seen footage on X by user @EthanLevins2 of Israeli Defense Force soldiers kicking a child off of a rooftop. I’ve seen footage on X by user @Timesofgaza of civilians getting blown to pieces by drones strapped with explosives. I’ve seen footage on X by user @EthanLevins2 of neighborhoods attacked with white phosphorus. Where is the line drawn?

I don’t think the United Nations wants that line drawn. I see leaders and politicians “condemning” Israel, yet none of them have the courage to do anything about it. Especially President Donald Trump. To put it simply, Trump is Netanyahu’s puppet and has been for his entire second term.

We are now at the point of Trump’s presidency where Israeli interests come before American interests, and it absolutely disgusts me. During Trump’s 2024 campaign, he ran heavily on the platform of “No new wars,” yet when Netenyahu needs thousands more soldiers and equipment for a war that is in no way ours, Trump gives him everything he wants and then some. The Ethos of the American identity has been the greatest power in the world, unafraid to bow to anyone. That America no longer exists. What we now have is a shell of itself, led by a stubborn and timid old man.

During an Israeli cabinet meeting on April 13, Netenyahu said he has been constantly updated on peace talks between America and Iran. Why does a foreign leader get to be consistently updated in-depth, but the American people aren’t? The way I look at it, Israel doesn’t want the war to end. Israel doesn’t want peace. They want America to keep attacking Iran on their behalf. Every American should question why we put more resources and soldiers into this conflict than Israel has, especially considering this is Israel’s war to fight. For being allegedly “our greatest ally,” they are a terrible ally.

This all begs the question, what’s the end goal? As history tells us, when a country like Israel wishes to expand its territory, it won’t stop at Palestine, Iran, or Lebanon. Israel is the rabid dog of geopolitics. Unless Israel is put on a leash and has their power and global influence severely limited, they will continue to murder and pillage innocent lives until there’s nothing else to take.
