Walking into a college-level classroom with no context would most likely leave voyeurs with questions as to what even everyone was attending.
The vastly different fashion styles that can be seen in any number of the HutchCC classrooms are fascinating, but why do students choose the garments that they do?

Some students treat the world like their personal fashion show. They choose to show up and show out every day by throwing a fit at every turn. They show up to an 8 a.m., face beat, hair laid, and confidence to the max. They prefer to look their best every day, and I applaud them for it.
Others, ahem, like (cough, cough) me, like to be comfy in class. You don’t know if they are going to class, a movie night, or the gym to get a pump in. Sometimes they will dress it up with a matching sweat set or a slick back and hoops combo, but only when they are feeling extra. This breed of college student is not to be confused with the former type of baddie on a casual day, although a dressed-down baddie and comfy queen can be confused to an untrained eye.
The pajama-clad student is to be treated with a gentle hand. They are often in the emotional trenches and could not bring themselves to change out of their sleep clothes for something as trivial as class. They protect their peace at all costs, sometimes to the detriment of their schoolwork, but they are outwardly chill. Don’t let this calm demeanor fool you; there is a monster within waiting to get out.
Throughout all the different styles and fashions of Hutchinson Community College, one thing remains. No one wants to go to an 8 a.m. class. In an outfit they hate, so whatever makes it easier to get up out of bed and make it in time for roll call, a college student will do.
