The Hutchinson Community College football team had been anticipating the release of the final NJCAA Division 1 Rankings on Monday morning.
The Blue Dragons were 9-1 on the season going into this week’s poll and were ranked No. 2 last week, trailing behind Iowa Western. With the release of the regular season poll, Hutchinson was among the top four teams, making it to the playoffs.
However, the Blue Dragons dropped to No. 3 and will be on the road for their semifinal. None of the top four teams played between last week’s poll and this week’s.
The lineup of the top four is No. 1 Iowa Western, No. 2 Georgia Military, No. 3 Hutchinson and No. 4 Northwest Mississippi.
Being seeded at No. 3 means the Blue Dragons will play Georgia Military at 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 8 at Davenport Field. No. 4 Northwest Mississippi will play No. 1 Iowa Western at 7 p.m. on Dec. 6 at Titian Stadium.
