The Cosmosphere’s SpaceWorks announced new traveling exhibits Tuesday, including one featuring artifacts from the Apollo 13 mission.
The launch of “Apollo 13: A Mission of Survival” will coincide with the 50th anniversary of “NASA’s Most Successful Failure.”
The exhibits are part of the SpaceWorks Exhibit and Artifact Rental Program, a new line of artifact rentals and display fabrication services under the Cosmosphere umbrella. SpaceWorks restores and replicates space artifacts, including the authentic command module of Apollo 13, Odyssey, which is on display in the Cosmosphere’s Hall of Space Museum.
Cosmosphere President and CEO Jim Remar said he believed the program will diversify and grow the operation of the museum as part of a larger artifact leasing business plan.
