With Valentine’s Day coming soon, it’s a depressing time to be single.
With the commercials shoved down people’s throats, like chocolates, romantic-comedies, flowers, etc., some Hutchinson Community College students wanted to share the reasons they’re single.
“I am single, because I am taking time to figure out what I really want and need in a husband, if that’s what I’m called to,” Carroll said. “And I have high expectations and have yet to find them.”
Another freshman, Rayne Joy, had something similar to say.
“I am single because I want to focus on pursuing my career before pursuing a relationship,” Joy said. “And also, no one has ever tried pursuing a relationship with me.”
And one more HutchCC student, who would like to remain anonymous, wanted to share their opinion on being single in college.
“For me, I would say the reason I’m still single is that I have standards for a guy,” the student answered. “I have liked a few guys in the past, and then I get to know more and am unsure if I want to date them. More like I see their red flags, and then I don’t want to pursue a relationship with that guy.”
So basically, most reasons college students are single are valid. With red flags and being busy, it can be difficult to find the right person. So enjoy being single, because there are plenty of fish in the sea.
