A controlled study in 2023-2024 that took 1,000 Americans showed that only 6% of people who made a New Year’s resolution actually stuck to their resolution, while the other 94% fell short.

Why does this happen?

New Year’s resolutions aren’t plans, they’re not just a list, they are your dreams. Dreams that you created because you know, deep down, that you would be happier if you could hit these goals in your life.

So why do some many of us fall short or already have fallen short?

Have you thought about how habits could be affecting you? Studies show that the average American’s day consists of 40% just off habits, which leads many people to drop their resolution, because of their old habits. They can’t open new times and they can’t reach their goals, but most importantly, their dreams.

Those dreams might be to move on and to reach where you want to be, and in order to get there, you have to be willing to drop habits. Habits are familiar and safe, but they can stop you from being a new you, because you won’t be open to trying new things or waking up earlier because you’re stuck in your habits.

Every year is a new year. Every year, as you get older, you have a chance of losing and gaining something or someone, so don’t be stuck every year in your same old habits. Start a new year by changing, because your dream is just one year away. It just matters if you want that dream bad enough.
