After Saturday’s 27-14 win against Garden City, the Hutchinson Blue Dragons continue to take the No. 1 spot in the NJCAA.
As the top-ranked team in the final regular-season poll, HutchCC will host a semifinal game against Northwest Mississippi at 6 p.m. on Dec. 6 at Gowans Stadium, marking the first-ever game between the two teams.
The Blue Dragons currently have the second-highest scoring offense and best scoring defense in the NJCAA.
If the Blue Dragons win the semifinal game against Northwest Mississippi, they will head to Texas to defend their national championship and play in their fourth championship game. No. 2 Iowa Western will play No. 3 Tyler, Texas, in the other semifinal.
The NJCAA national championship will take place on Dec. 17 at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas.
