My experiences moving have changed a lot over the years, from moving from Wichita to Hutchinson at a young age, I didn’t have an understanding of the difficulties of moving.
I was 5-years old at the time and we all moved from Wichita to Hutch. Living here was different. It took time to adapt to life changes and to demote ourselves to work hard here in Hutchinson.
Time flies. Now I’m 19 and I just moved into a place with my best friend. Funny enough, the guy that I met in first grade when it was my second year in Hutch. Moving is different without your parents, and you have to accept that change is OK.
My friend and I have had our place for two days now and the experiences have been fun but also frustrating. The fun part of moving is that you have your own space but the bad in moving is the actual moving part. When you get to the moving part it is a struggle especially when you buy new things.
Buying furniture from Facebook Marketplace is never suggested, you can get furniture for cheap you just have to realize the risks that might come with that couch or dresser that come with it.
For example I bought a large bear from Facebook. The lady was nice. You could just tell that she was a smoker. I didn’t know that she was a smoker till I got the bear from her and my car reeked like cigarettes all the way home.
That night I didn’t even take the bear home, I just threw it away in a trash bin somewhere.
So technically I do have experience with the marketplace but I am never going to buy furniture from secondhand people. If the bear was so horrible with the smell of smoke I could never imagine a couch smelling good.
With that said, growing up can be a challenge but it’s the steps that you have to take to mature and grow up. Once you move out you are responsible for yourself and you have to make your own decisions whether those decisions are good or bad you will still have your own place away from your parents.
