Athlete of the week: Drew Reetz

The week: Reetz was a bright light in an otherwise dark week for the Blue Dragons who went 2-4. He started the week by going 2 for 3 with a home run in five RBIs in a 13-2 win over Coffeyville. Then he reached base twice more in the second game, and got another hit during a 5-4 victory. In a four-game sweep at the hands of Barton, Reetz still went 4 for 12 and had a hit in each game.

The season: Reetz, a freshman infielder from Elkhorn, Neb., has hit safely in nine straight games, and is batting .263 with three home runs, 11 RBIs, 13 runs scored and six extra-base hits.
