The Blue Dragons ended the period with a 39-24 advantage over Pratt, and continued to play well into the second.

Tyler Brown was the leading scorer for the Blue Dragons with 23 points. Brown also chipped in five rebounds and four assists.

“He shot the ball well,” Blue Dragons coach Steve Eck said of the former Derby standout. “He’s a steady ball player, and he’s one of our hardest workers.

It was the steady play from Brown that lifted the Blue Dragons to the win. He shot 5 of 8 from the 3-point line, drilling three of them in the second half.

“My shot was feeling good,” Brown said. “I got off kinda to a slow start, but I let the game come to me the right way.”

Brown wasn’t the only Blue Dragon with a solid game. DJ Mitchell finished with 13 points, five assists, and a couple of steals, while Clarence King scored 12 points, and grabbed eight rebounds. Josh Baker was the fourth Blue Dragon in double figures. He finished the game with 11 points, eight rebounds, and two steals.

This is the first time the Blue Dragons have won two consecutive games since beating Northwest Kansas Technical College on Jan. 13 and Garden City on Jan. 15.

The Blue Dragons will play their next game on Wednesday at Dodge City.
