Red Flag Week is dedicated to prevent abusive relationship and harassment on campus. The week took place from April. 4th to 8th.

You have seen the little red flag around campus while walking to class. Red flags are the actions that are consider as harassment or abusive. It could be with a couple you know, at a party, on campus in the hallways, or anywhere around you.

The Red Flag campaign’s goal was to sensitize the students and advisors to look out for these “red flags.”

On the first day they gave away red t-shirts and answered questions related to the event. On April 4, a showing of the movie “The Hunting Ground” was held at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Justice Theater.

“I think it’s awesome. I don’t know anybody that had been touched by it but it is good to know how to prevent this from happening.” Sherry Matthews, McPherson, said.

The campaign also had touching pictures all across campus of victims and abusers writing little messages about their abusive experiences.

HCC wants to make sure everybody is safe on campus and has a good experience with their time here.
