For the final, regular season game, the Blue Dragon women’s basketball team played the Garden City Broncbusters in Garden City on Feb. 22 and won.

The score was, 62-52.

The Dragons record is now 26-3 overall and 16-3 in the Jayhawk West Conference.

This win helped Hutch take their 6th consecutive conference title.

The leading scorer for the Dragons was Kirea Rogers, Wichita, with 19 points.

Rogers added 12 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season.

Right behind Rogers was Inja Butina, Zagreb, Croatia, with 17 points.

Butina also added six rebounds, five assists, and four steals.

After this game, Butina is now tied for the most assists in a single season with 207.

Overall, the Dragons out-rebounded their opponents 41-36 and had nine steals, five coming from her.

Throughout the game, there were 15 lead changes.

During the first quarter, Hutch only hit four of 16 shots, but held the lead at the end of the quarter.

The score was 10-8.

After a Taylor Stahly, Newton, three-pointer, the Dragons took the lead back, 16-15.

As the halftime buzzer sounded, the Dragons had the lead, 24-20.

The Broncbusters scored the first five points of the game, which started a quarter with eight lead changes.

With the game tied at 31, Butina hit two free throws with two minutes remaining.

As the tough quarter ended, the Dragons hit a crucial three from Shayla DeGarmo, Hutchinson.

The Dragons had the lead once again and the score was 36-33.

In the final quarter, Garden City came within one point three times, but Hutch kept the lead.

Of the final 26 free throws, the Dragons hit 20 of them, with 17 consecutive makes.

The Dragons won the game, 62-52.

Hutch took on Barton at home on Feb. 20 and won.

The score was 81-59.

The Dragons are headed to the Region VI tournament as a No. 1 seed, so they get a bye in the first round.

In the quarterfinals, the Dragons are scheduled to face either Independence or Dodge City on March 1 in the Hartman Arena of Park City.

The game kicks off at 1 p.m.
