The Blue Dragon football team played Iowa Western at home on Oct. 24 and lost.

The score was 15-35.

The Dragons record is now 4-5.

A few minutes into the game, Tymony Bonilla, Salina, kicked a 35-yard field goal.

The score was 3-0.

Following shortly after was a field goal by Iowa Western, tying the game 3-3.

Neither team was able to score in the remainder of the first quarter.

During the second quarter, the Dragons scored a touchdown after a 30-yard pass to Gary Cross, Fordyce, Arkansas, from Dimonic McKinzy, Kansas City.

The score was 9-3 after a failed kick from Bonilla.

To close the half, Iowa was able to take the lead after a touchdown and a successful field goal.

The score was 9-10.

Hutch was unable to score in the third quarter, but their opponents scored two field goals and another touchdown and field goal.

The score was 9-23.

To open the fourth quarter, Iowa Western scored another field goal.

Minutes later, another connection from McKinzy to Cross, the Dragons scored another touchdown.

Hutch had their field goal blocked and Iowa returned it and scored after a PAT return.

The score was 15-28.

The Dragons didn’t score again.

Iowa Western score another touchdown and field goal to end the game.

The ending score was 15-35 with the Dragons falling in their fifth game of the season.

The Dragons must win their next two games to be eligible to compete in the Salt City Bowl game this December.

Overall this game, Hutch had 56 net rushing yards and 244 passing yards with two passing touchdowns both to Cross.

Offensively, Cross had six receptions over 155 yards.

Behind him was Tyren Jones, Marietta, Georgia, with four receptions for about 25 yards.

Defensively, Leslie Maruo, Wichita, had a total of 12 tackles.

Right behind him was D.J. Shamlee, Columbia, South Carolina, had 10 tackles.

Hutch is scheduled to play at home on Oct. 31 against Ellsworth.

The game kicks off at 1 p.m.
