The Blue Dragons won both games of a double header at home against the Hesston Larks on April 8.
In the first game, Hutch won 13-1 and the second they won 9-6.
The Dragons’ record is now 26-13.
At the start of the first game, the Dragons were tied 1-1 at the bottom of the second, until Hutch was able to bring a runner home.
Jordan Harris, Tulsa, Oklahoma, was able to help the Dragons to a win during the first game by having three hits and scored to runs for Hutch.
The first game ended at five innings because of the 10-run mercy rule, the Dragons winning 13-1.
The second game started with a struggle for the Dragons as the pitcher, Will Ervin, Junction City, wasn’t able to find a rhythm.
Then Hutch was able to get a pitcher, Alex Ruxlow, McPherson, in the game to take over, after a few errors on the Dragons’ plucky pitchers.
At the bottom of the fourth inning the game was tied 6-6.
Ruxlow was able to strikeout each Hesston play to finish the Larks chance of taking the lead at both the fifth and sixth innings.
Hutch scored two runs in the fifth inning and one run in the sixth and final inning.
The Dragons with the lead of 9-6 to end the game with another win.
The second game was also cut short as the lightning struck, the teams decided to end the game at six innings.
The Dragons are scheduled to play Barton in a series of games on April 10-12 in Great Bend.
