The Lady Dragon basketball team traveled to Colby on Feb. 15 and won, 86-47. The Dragons are now 27-0 overall and 13-0 in the Jayhawk West.

They have played and beat Butler, Barton, Colby, and Pratt over the last two weeks.

They made nine three-pointers against Colby, a season high for the team.

Five of the Dragons scored in double figures.

They include, the leader for scoring, Clemence LeFebvre, St. Martin, France, who scored 15 points, Cynthia Petke, Yaounde, Cameroon, who had 14 points and 12 rebounds and achieved her 13th double-double of the season, Shakira Harding, Houma, Fla., Alyx Bloom, Clay Center, and Kalani Purcell, Hamilton, New Zealand, all had 10 points each.

The Dragons outrebounded their opponents 45-25 and had 23 assists on 34 made baskets.

The Dragons had a very slow start allowing Colby to take the lead 8-2, just five minutes into the game.

Then the Dragons offense finally came around with a 16-0 run, the Dragons with the lead, 18-8 with 10 minutes left in the first half.

The Dragons closed the half with a 17-4 run, leading 39-17.

The Dragons scored 47 points to Colby’s 29 in the second half.

The Dragons won the game by 39 points, 86-47.

The Dragons played the Pratt Beavers at the Sports Arena on Feb. 18 and won 72-46.

Continuing the Dragons undefeated record and also holding the No. 1 spot in the Jayhawk West Conference.

Purcell scored the most points for the Blue Dragons; she scored 20 points against the Beavers.

She also had 12 rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

LeFebvre, Harding, and Bloom each contributed 12 points, while Cynthia Petke, Yaounde, Cameroon, had nine points.

Petke also had eight rebounds.

At halftime the Dragons only had a seven-point lead against the Beavers, 37,30.

As the second half opened, the Dragons came out with a big run of 22 points to the Beavers four points. The Dragons lead 59-34.

The Beavers only scored 17 points the entire second half.

The Dragons won the game 86-47.

The Dragons are to travel to Concordia to play Cloud County on Feb. 21.
