Despite all the hype and speculation about Sony Pictures’ “The Interview,” it was a little bit of a disappointment.

The Interview is about two men, Dave Skylark and Aaron Rapoport, who run a celebrity show called “Skylark Tonight.” They end up obtaining an agreement for an interview with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.

Then the CIA recruits the team to assassinate the dictator.

If you’re in the mood for slapstick comedy with very little thought, it’s a pretty good movie.

Giving the political backlash and the threatened bombings of any theater showing the film, the movie’s hype left big shoes to fill.

The movie had room for great political satire and the storyline could have been entertaining. But the movie was full of constant sarcasm and Kim Jong-un fighting rumors of homosexuality.

The acting was poor — and that was hard to believe with a team like James Franco and Seth Rogan. The script didn’t give the actors much chance to win an Oscar.

I found the movie very predictable and the so-called “twist” was no surprise. Personally, I think this movie is great for a few shots of humor and gags, but I wouldn’t have paid to see it.

But given all the publicity, this movie will continue to be watched, so just be prepared and don’t waste your money.
