Over the week of Spring Break, the Blue Dragon softball team played a series of games against Garden City, Highland, and Kansas City.

The Dragons beat both Garden City and Kansas City in double headers and lost to Highland in a doubleheader.

Hutch’s record is now 16-4.

During a recent home stand at Fun Valley against Kansas City, on March 21, Hutch won both games in the doubleheader.

The scores were 8-1 and 11-6.

In the first game, the Dragons had a total of eight runs and nine hits with just one error.

Holly Kelley, Cypress, Texas, tallied three runs in the first game of the doubleheader.

Kelcee Thompson, Springdale, Arkansas, and Tori Caruthers, Lampasas, Texas, both had two runs apiece.

After a scoreless first inning from both teams, the Dragons scored one run in the second inning.

Then Hutch had back-to-back innings where they scored three runs, the third and fourth innings; plus a scoreless fifth inning.

The score was 7-1 after five innings.

During the last two innings, Hutch was the only team to score a run.

They won the first game, 8-1.

In the second game, three Dragon players had two runs each.

Those players were Kelley, Caruthers, and Hannah Danielson, Edmond, Oklahoma.

The Dragons easily swept their opponents in the second game and won, 11-0.

As Spring Break was just beginning, the Dragons beat Garden City in a doubleheader on March 15.

The scores were 18-2 in five innings and 19-12 in the second game.

A few days later, Hutch played Highland Community College at home and lost both games of the doubleheader.

The Dragons are scheduled to play Allen on Friday, April 1, and Neosho on Saturday, April 2. Both games are away.
