With Thanksgiving coming up next week, the debate starts, regarding what makes Thanksgiving a memorable holiday. Is it the food, family or something else?
Here’s what some Hutchinson Community College students said about their Thanksgiving favorites.

Bella Bergmeier, Hutchinson freshman
Favorite food – Mashed potatoes and gravy
What makes the day special? Always have fun.
Favorite memory – I would say my favorite Thanksgiving memory is when my family would make food all together for our Thanksgiving lunch

Jackson Dozier, Hutchinson freshman
Favorite food – Rolls or Mac and Cheese
What makes the day special? Spending time with my family and friends and enjoying their company
Favorite memory – Playing football with all of my cousins and uncles

Noah Wannamaker, Hutchinson sophomore
Favorite food – Mashed potatoes
What makes the day special? Seeing family I often don’t get to see.
Favorite memory – Probably fighting my cousins for a chair.

MaryAna Flores, Hutchinson freshman
Favorite food – Ham, only if I make it. It is doused in pineapple juice and bakes in the oven for half a day. It falls right off the bone.
What makes the day special? I have a lot of family so I get extra food
Favorite memory – Collectively, we play a lot of games and it gets pretty funny sometimes

Agustin Segoviano, Hutchinson freshman
Favorite food – Ham and tamales
What makes the day special? I think what makes my Thanksgiving so special is that I am always surrounded by family that I like and there’s always funny moments that happen in my house or wherever I am at Thanksgiving.
Favorite memory – Favorite Thanksgiving memory is when I was with my older cousins but I was younger at the time. We had just gotten to my uncle’s house and we decided that we were give build a giant leaf pile. Once we were done with the leave pile we all decided to jump into it but my oldest sister had the key to our grandma’s apartment and she had lost the key in the leaf pot
