As spooky seasons approaches, people get ready for the trick or treaters to come to houses, in either really cool or really cringe costumes.
But there’s a debate of when is too old to be dressing up and knocking on strangers’ doors begging for candy?
Some Hutchinson Community College students shared their thoughts about when is the time to stop trick or treating and just do something fun instead.
“Probably 18 because they’re adults, but I think if you want to do that, you go for it,” said HutchCC student Kirsten Young.
Other students think trick or treating should end at high school.
“Honestly I say once you’re past eighth grade, probably like, once you’re in the 17 range, it gets a little too old,” said Hutchinson freshman Justin Birdsall. “It’s kind of weird to wear a costume when you’re that old.”
Both agree that 17-18 years old is considered too old for trick or treating and dressing up for Halloween, unless you’re going to a party or something else.
Some people just prefer to stay home and hand out candy to younger trick or treaters or go out for some fun, like parties, pranks, hanging out with friends, and haunted houses. So whether you’re in your late teens or early twenties, you’re never too old for dressing up on Halloween to have fun.
