Hutchinson Community College students can get ready for one of the more relaxing and educational events of the fall semester – The Safety, Health, and Wellness Fair.
The fair will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Student Union. Michelle Wortham, HutchCCs Administrative Assistant to the Vice President, said that there will be educational activities, including learning about fire safety from HutchCC’s Fire Science program, gaining awareness about drinking and impaired driving from Campus Safety, having blood pressure checked by HutchCC EMS students, and visiting with local organizations that provide health and wellness resources.
“Students can assess their stress and anxiety levels, discuss mental health, pick up study skills and time management tips, and receive free testing for HIV or other sexually transmitted infections.” Wortham said.
Wortham has mentioned that cosmetology students will be offered eyebrow waxing and hand dips. There will also be a lot of giveaways for students.
