Calling all art students, it is time for the 2025 Art Exhibition, which will be at 7 p.m. on April 29 at the Stringer Fine Art Center.
But, keep in mind, art submissions are due this Friday at the Stringer Fine Art Center needing to be ready to frame and are to be given to Amy Goforth in room 129. The artwork given must be created while being a student at HutchCC. There will also be cash prizes for first, second, and third place.
Here are a few students who have come forward to share their experiences with their art and preparing for the show – Mercedes Jaquet, Hosanna Kroeker, Kathryn Ummel, and Josh Moots.
Mercedes Jaquet, Hutchinson freshman
“When I was little my older sister did art so I wanted to be just like her.”
“While I found Oil painting to be frustrating at first, I had grown to like it.”
“The House of the Dragon character Alicent Hightower was my inspiration for my piece for the show.”
Hosanna Kroeker, Inman sophomore
“My parents are really creative and gave me opportunities to be creative.”
“My favorite medium is water color.”
“What inspired me was Bolo ties, western vibe and cowboys.”
Josh Moots, Hutchinson sophomore

“Water color and gouache is my favorite meduim.”
“The Appalachian mountain where purple flowers grow is one of my mountain ranges in America.”
Kathryn Ummel, Hutchinson freshman
“When I was little I was always drawing and my favorite medium is Acrylic paint,” Ummel said.
“What inspired me for the show was a picture of mountains reflections on the internet for an assignment, we had to find three landscapes.”
So get your art supplies and imagination ready for the best art exhibition yet and hopefully art exhibitions to come.
