It is almost graduation time, and that means for those students that will need to find a job, they need to look no further for at the Hutchinson Sports Arena on April 3. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. there is going to be a job fair.  For more information Michelle Wortham a Student Success Center responsive and a Hutchinson Community College student Logan D’Alessio  

“We have capped the number this year to 143,” said Michelle Wortham, the Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Student Services. “We have a waiting list in case there are cancellations. Some employers will be hiring on the spot, while others will offer summer jobs and paid internships. Students still exploring career options are encouraged to attend, as employers will be eager to share information about their companies and job requirements. Many students have found their career paths through past Job Fairs.”

Wortham said that the job fair was not exclusive to HutchCC students.

“We have invited area high school counselors to bring their students and encourage anyone in the community looking to expand their job opportunities to attend,” Wortham said.

Wortham said that employers from across Kansas, along with companies from Nebraska and Oklahoma, will be in attendance. There are several organizations with corporate offices in California, New Jersey, Virginia, and Florida that have registered. 

Wortham said that her role in the job fair is helping students with opportunities and experience.

Logan D’Alessio, a Hutchinson freshman, said he was unaware that there was going to be a job fair, but now he knows he is thinking about going. D’ Alessio said that he feels that the job fair is helpful for getting a job in a field that a has been studying.
