Alan Montgomery/Collegian - At about 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, three westbound vehicles slid and crashed together at 30th and Farmington, as they tried to turn north onto Farmington to avoid barricades erected on 30th. A galvanized steel traffic light pole at Main and 30th had snapped off in the wind, requiring street department workers to move it away and set up barricades. In the three-car wreck, there were no injuries, but one car (at left in photo) was forced over the curb and into a small park area’s lawn, just a half-block east of where the light pole had fallen.
