With the extra year of eligibility granted by the NJCAA to all spring sports athletes, some HutchCC athletes are left looking toward their future with question marks. Do they stay or transfer?
HutchCC sophomore guard Saquan Singleton was the first Blue Dragon on the 2020 men’s basketball team to sign. The 6-foot-6 guard from the Bronx, N.Y. led the team in rebounding, assists and steals.
All spring athletes were granted a hardship, essentially meaning the 2020 season never happened as far as eligibility is concerned. Eligibility remains as it was before the year began.

The 2020 NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball Championship allows eight at-large bids to enter the tournament, reserved for teams that don’t win one of the 16 automatic bids. Just as it occurred last season, the HutchCC women’s basketball team earned one of those spots.
For the first time in 14 years, the HutchCC softball team defeated Butler. Women’s Track and Field sophomore Gabby Collins earned All-American honors. Baseball falls 13-6.

HutchCC’s men’s track and field team has headlined every week by breaking records. Normally for the men’s team, those headlines are for distance runners Andrew Kibet and Sylvestre Kibarar. Last week, sophomore Brett Hillabrand got to see his name in the headlines too.
